Workshop Stories is located in the semi-basement of an apartment building in the center of Thessaloniki. It has an area of 50.00 sqm and is a single space that is functionally divided into imaginary sub-spaces with different uses. The waiting area is followed by a toolbox space to get the necessary tools / materials for each lesson and a co-working space of 10 people. Finally, in the attic are the kitchenette and the WC.
The space was designed to host painting workshops for children and adults, seminars, exhibitions, to function as a coworking space or meeting place by small groups of people.
The choices of the design team led to a palette of pastel shades with earthy elements. The gray mosaic floor is harmoniously combined with the irregular lines in the murals but also with the birch wood, creating a warm and welcoming environment.
New electrical / plumbing installations were constructed and synthetic frames with double energy glazing were installed by the company FINKO. All the furniture is from IKEA Greece, while the equipment and decoration used in the photography are from IKEA Greece, JYSK and H&M HOME. The photo was taken by Spyros Karvounis.
